 Ni Hao!
Sunday morning the five of us took off from Amsterdam, together with our awesome backup soundguy and camera man. We all actually didn’t have any clue what to expect, but
we’re all about the adventure. About 13 hours later we touched down in Beijing,
one of the biggest cities in the world (19 million). It’s spectacularly hot here,
35 degrees! We met up with the promoter/label guy, who is really nice and
professional. He has worked very hard to get us here and has everything sorted
out. The hotel is nice (airco, wi-fi, lovely!) and the food at a traditional Chinese restaurant was
amazing! Hilarious to hear that nobody’s ever heard of ‘bami’ or ‘nasi goreng’ in China by
the way, I’m confused!
After that we got a cab that drove us to the Chinese wall, which was just about an
hour away from our hotel. It’s of the 7 official world wonders. Some of us climbed
to the highest point and the view over the mountains was really really impressive.
 We had actually planned to keep everybody updated through Twitter and Facebook, but
today we found out that these sites are both 100% blocked by the government in
entire China. No problem, we’ll find a way around it.
Tomorrow we’ll play our first show of the tour, and I’m actually really looking
forward to seeing Useless ID live, really good band. It’s finally starting to sink
in that we’re actually in China and we’re more than ready for any adventure!

Het ziet ernaar uit dat jullie het daar wel naar jullie zin hebben, ik hoop dat de shows ook zo vet zijn als elke andere plek waar jullie komen. Zal wel vreemd zijn weer ergens te belanden waar ze jullie helemaal niet kennen.

Leuke pics. Dat van de kat die, als je even niet oplet, je tjotee of ontbijt opeet, is heel bekend. Ik moet hier ook nogal eens voor politieagentje spelen :)
